There are essentially two proposed alternatives (excluding the "kill 'em all" alternative) to Israel.
The first if for the Jews to go back to being a diaspora living as a minority under the mercy of another culture.
History has proven that this is a poor option, but the multi-cultural, urbanite types who achieve climax to John Lennon's "Imagine" believe that it's either that or Fascism.
The other option is "autonomous regions" in various countries like the USA or Russia, which is basically kosher Indian reservations, and those are only autonomous so long as the united states doesn't need something there.

And all that is not to mention the PLO's ten point program, which isn't publicly brought up today all that much, but I suspect is what most Arabs are hoping the two state solution would become.
