Why is Polish orthography so screwed unlike Slovenian, for example? It gives me physical headache trying to read Polish texts.

Ironic, considered russian alphabet is full of unnecessary nonsense like the soft and hard sign, or letters which include wholse syllables occasionally (ya or yu). You are using a worse, more complicated alphabet and cope by posting nonsense like this. If cyrylic was good, it wouldn't be used by turkish subhumans from northern kosovo and bulgaria, nuf said.

Polish orthography is mostly unchanged since XIV century, meanwhile languages like Slovenian were basically recreated in modern era

Well, since every consonant in Russian language has the hard and the soft variants, those are pretty necessary in the orthography.

These are apparently completely silent and get transliterated as apostrophes. What is the point

they change the way the word is pronounced
this wouldn't be necessary if they simply added more letters like in the polish language
