Hungarians and Romanians are just Slavs speaking non Slavic languages, they are genetically almost identical to their neighbors. Hungarians are not Asian and Romanians are not Latins in any genetic sense.

What do genetics have to do with anything ? It's about cultural traits and languages. Everyone has bunch of mixed genes and that shouldn't play any role. What use are genetics if they are culturally distinct?

Kind of true BUT Romanians are Orthodox Christians who were in the Eastern Bloc and their language has an assload of Slavic loanwords. I doubt they're culturally closer to Iberians and Italians than they are to Bulgarians and Serbs.
