on one hand it's annoying that our women date everyone except for polish guys but on the other hand it looks like it's the only way so anyone abroad gets a glimpse of our culture
i bet 90% of westerners who reside in Poland are here because they have Polish wives

1. Polish–Soviet War
2. Siege of Vienna
3. John Paul II
4. Po
5. Land

All in all, I know nothing about Poland, but they've made a good go of things, despite God giving them the world's worst neighbours.

yeah, our diaspora is truly wonderful in advertising their home country kek
and they unironically come here for Christmas and tell us how patriotic they are and how they spread knowledge of Poland everywhere

I sometimes go to the Polski sklep to get cheap sauerkraut, the people there are generally quiet and polite, a good advert for Poles. They shouldn't have to lecture everyone on how great Poland is.

not exactly how great it is but at least they could raise awareness of Poland in the west overall
yet most of them just stop giving a fuck about Poland once they leave

Think of Turks in Germany. They are more loyal to Turkey than to Germany. They never give up their Turkish identity, also they simply advertise their country by making their cuisine or music popular among Germans. That's why Germany will never do anything against Turkey - because they would have riots in the streets and several million votes against the party that tried to do this.

Meanwhile Polish diaspora, despite coming from the same background, doesn't care about Poland at all. They actually try to assimilate as soon as possible, forgetting about their home country. Well, a large part of them actually obsessively hate Poland and try to be "more western than westerners".

they are good for the host country (because it gets new loyal citizens and soft power) but bad for the sending country (because it loses loyal citizens and soft power), simple

There were more than 100k Polish citizens in the UK in the 1950s. By the 1990s their number decreased to close to zero. So basically, Poland lost 100k people and gained nothing. Britain got 100k Europeans who simply assimilated over 2 generations completely, losing any sense of their Polish origin and considering themselves just regular "white British". It happened so fast, so in 2004 Brits didn't even remember that they had any Poles before and they saw the new immigration wave from Poland as something new and never heard of before and even dared claiming that Poles are so different culturally from them so their assimilation is impossible (lmao). Meanwhile as we see today, children of Poles born and raised in the UK, are just white British and nothing else, no exceptions.

Meanwhile, once an Indian - always Indian. Once a Turk - always Turk, in 2nd, 3rd, 4th and every next generation, they never give up their identity.

When I was a kid my next door neighbour was an old Polish guy and his wife, he'd come over after the war (he lost all of his close family during the war), he had assimilated in as far his wife was English, but he was very much a Pole. I went to school with a boy whose grandparents were political refugees because of the war (his grandather had been in the air force), he considered himself to be Polish-British, they even had their own seperate Polish church.

and that was the last generation like that, and still very few people kept their identity for so long
my grandma's brother also ended up in Scotland after WW2, he married a Polish woman so their children had Polish identity and knew the language to some degree but they already married Scottish people so the grandchildren are regular Scots with their Polish heritage being nothing more than what 1/4 German heritage means to an average American (nothing)
