What language should I learn that is future-proof and not useless?
Between Russian and Spanish? I heard Spanish has so many dialects that even if I learn it, people in Argentina or Mexico wouldn’t understand me.
For context: I’m fluent in English and Mandarin, and I understand a bit of Indonesian and Cantonese.
So is Russian the better choice, since I’m already fluent in Mandarin?

Spanish has accents which differ slightly from each other but it's not like Arabic where the different "dialects" are actually languages of varying mutual intelligibility. Caribbean Spanish and Chilean Spanish are a little hard to understand but it's not that bad and it doesn't take too long to become familiar with them.

Unless they're knuckle draggers from the deep countryside (we got those too in Spain) who can't tone down their accent, you'll be understood and they'll understand you. In formal writing they're exactly the same to the point where I was once reading an official document and was very confused about the agencies mentioned until I noticed that I had no reason whatsoever to know them because it was a pdf from the government of Argentina. Oops.
Anyway, living in SG you have to give some thought as to whether you want to learn Mexican Spanish (the dominant variant in Latin America) or Spanish from Spain (extremely small compared to the others, but is used in the EU/Schengen).
Spanish World Singapore has accreditation from the Cervantes Institute. Go ham.
Also Russian is hard as fuck in absolute and relative terms compared to Spanish but there's definitely a niche to learn it, much like some Western guys learn Chinese to act as liasions. Probably more relevant to you if you want to stay in Singapore.
Up to you.
