the town itself is known for citrus cultivation, but most folks works commute to other area unless they happened to have local job

I like South Japan. My favorite people to talk to were in Hiroshima, Osaka, and small villages in South Honshu. Tokyo is filled with soulless salarymen.

Do you recommend the 88 Temple Pilgrimage in Shikoku (四国遍路)?

yeah, pilgrimage route is good, but please be reminded that its not just tourism route but still quiet and pious trail

I am Hindu so I enjoy seeing the Siddham and Japanese interpretations of Hindu-Buddhist gods. I liked Koya-san for that reason - plan is to do the Kumano Kodo next time I visit

Tokyo has nothing fun for me at least. Drinks are too expensive, everywhere is flooded with tourists, the imperial palace is an ugly concrete bunker, Akihabara is way more lame than how weebs describe it. Meiji Park is nice though.
