I dont think russian culture still exists, and neither do russian people. They seem to have still existed into late 2000s, then their numbers declined through 2010s, then they vanished during covid, 5 years of war and the following 10 years of power transfer from putin's clan to his successor's ethno-fsb aristocracy. Whole regions went dark in an attempt to reintroduce serfdom in 2030s. So when the next cycle of language-based separatism tore the country apart, no one showed up to call themselves "russian" and hold it together.

But the rich got richer from exploiting their small oligarchic pseudo-countries while living far away, so it's all fine.

I cannot tell you anything about Russian culture, because I am removed from it entirely. I understand the language but when I speak it is clear I am converting what I wish to say from English. This results in many native Russian speakers raising an eyebrow but ultimately understanding what I wish to say despite the strange way I say it.

I think the language is beautiful when used with the highest purpose in mind, like in poetry and music. I like to watch anime in Russian.
