what are JM stores rated like in Portugal, are they high class or low class?
here Biedronka was traditionally seen as a cheap, working class supermarket but in the last few years they invested a lot to change this image, they improved the inside look of their markets and introduced a lot of imported, luxury products (especially a lot of Iberian stuff which I love). Though they're kinda forced to that because like a decade ago there was a clear division that Lidl is a "middle class" store and was mostly present in big cities while Biedronka was that "working class" one and was more prominent in smaller towns, but then Lidl started expanding in smaller towns too so Biedronka had to counter-attack with attracting middle class to do the shopping.
Anyway, thanks to fierce competition in our market at least consumers benefit from lower prices.
