I wanted to put wallpaper up it's too expensive. I'm thinking of adding a painting poster to that hole behind the lamp and what's behind me I'll paint black, add some purple pixie lights, and fill it with posters of metal bands, animes, mangas and maybe some films

As to the purple, when I was living in my dorm in Russia my roommates had some which where like purple and green and maybe another color or so (I don't remember well), they would add a very nice atmosphere, the actual illumination they'd give was close to nothing— was almost dreamy

I would just recommend a not so strong yellow light. The warmth they give off is very cozy.

Can't remember if I've read Dorian Gray, will have to check and see, and read if I haven't already.

My two favorites at the moment are Suttree by Cormac McCarthy and The obscene bird of night by José Donoso. Both are masterpieces, the language in both of them is incredible.

I don't know, there's a lot of variation as with any region. With that said, I do like magic realism. Juan Rulfo (Pedro Paramo) and Alejo Carpentier (The kingdom of this world) for example. I also like the life and society some of them paint, like Jorge Amado (Gabriela, clove and cinnamon, Showdown, Doña Flor and her two husbands). Just makes me happy. There's a lot of good stuff to be found in latin-american(hispanic literature. Not saying these things can't be found elsewhere. But I'd say they're a "signature" of this region. Or something. I'm too drunk right now.
