Is it harder for English speakers to learn Japanese or Japanese speakers to learn English?

The Japanese dont use an alphabet dude. Writing Japanese is retardedly hard

I suppose the former is harder.
our language has lots of patterns that are grammatically correct but rhythmically wrong, which are stupid.
I'm still bad at English, but like to stick to English and can gain more presence in meetings than in Japanese.

A foreign learner starts Japanese as a functional illiterate, that’s an insane learning obstacle.

A Jap has to learn one alphabet and contend with a retarded, incoherent pronunciation system. English learners have to contend with learning three alphabets (one of which has tens of thousands of characters), and a more straightforward pronunciation system (for hiragana and katakana.) Also there's more rules (social and grammatical) one has to follow. I definitely think English learners have a steeper curve.

Japanese people are exposed to English from early childhood, through school, media, loanwords, etc. By the time a Japanese decides to actually learn English they have a lifetime of English exposure to base it on, even if they can't speak it the pieces are there in their brain waiting to be put into place

An English person who decides to start learning Japanese has zero knowledge of Japanese except maybe a couple words they picked up from anime. They will have a much harder time gaining exposure to the language. Basically you need to live in Japan for some time to actually become fluent, unless you're a savant at languages
