You realize that clothes get dry when you hang them not primarily because of the sun but because the liquide phase oh H2O in the clothes interacts with the gaz phase in the atmosphere and the gaz molecules detach the molecules from the liquid phase which share a frontier with the gaz phase? The heat of the sun is a "facteur cinétique" it only makes this chemical reaction faster, you would know this if you had studied the biphasic diagram.
It doesn't particular need to be sunny or even day time for clothes to dry, the sun helps, sure, but it not necessary.
