This is off topic, but Japan doesn't have war memorial statues to honor Soviet soldiers who died in the battlefield but two peace memorial parks to honor the victims killed by two atomic bombs, one in Hiroshima and the other in Nagasaki.
Pic related is a prominent building called 原爆ドーム (lit. Atomic bomb dome), which was almost completely destroyed by the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima.
It's intentionally preserved the way it is for future generations.
