Wait, you can just walk in to someone's fenced in yard in sweden? I know in the US if you got like acres of open land boardering other open land you can go through it, but not someone's yard.
Anonymous Sweden No.214262178 >>214262232
>>214262085
No, it says certain because there are exceptions like someones' yard

Whether it's part of a yard or not
Anonymous United States No.214262402 >>214262483
>>214262344
so no fence mean you can go there? what about developed orchards? if you put down a fence on your property does it become unroamable, or do you need a gov' grant to unroamafy your pond?
Anonymous Sweden No.214262483
>>214262402
You can have a yard without a fence, you can generally walk through farmland outside of season, it would be very hard to get permission to put down a fence on your property that is covered by the right to roam

we actually own land and you are landlets who only own small plots barely wide enough for your house (parking on the street. for outings you rely on state or goverment land. thats not the case here where the wast majority of the outdoors is privately owned.

Technically you cannot own the shore land here. I mean the land that is literally borders lakes, rivers, seas etc. A company can rent it however, if they want to create some touristic/fishing/recreational base. But even then they have no rights to block access to the shore by law. Everyone can access the shores here.

some countries don't need this law because the land is already public. in scandinavia it's mostly privately owned
