Finns have conscription, every male is a trained soldier there and they have the military pride deeply instilled in their mind
In Poland no one but the few professional soldiers knows what a gun looks like (civilian gun possession is very low here too) and Poles are generally indifferent about the army and military things. For us Russian culture with its obsession about the military and army-related things being part of every local festival or widely present in pop music and such, is something very distant and not understandable. Maybe if they bring back conscription it will change.
