Good morning to my borderland brothers
How are we feeling?
Me personally? Blessed to live in the borderlands where cultural openness, industriousness, new beginnings, and adventurous spirits are the norm. Oh and also feeling invigorated over the beautiful bi-national sunrise (yeah I love borderplexes… how could you tell)

X marks the spot of a very special community and a very special place:

Okay so I'm from "the core" and life here is shitty and have been thinking about becoming a borderlander too. I've narrowed it down to either the US-Mexican or US-Canadian borders because I think US Maritime border culture is pretty minimal.

So I think I'm leaning Mexico-USA because there's a lot of larger communities plus it just seems more "out there" and a place to reinvent myself.

I'm so happy to hear that! I'm so glad we'll have another borderlander soon. I 100% think that the US-Canadian border has some great spots but I think the US-Mexican border gives you more of a "borderlands" feel. The history is much different than the border with Canada of course. So I recommend trying southern border first and if after a year you haven't scratched your itch you can try the northern one

I live in Miami and we have a maritime border with the Bahamas and my uncle sometimes rides his boat to the bahamas directly. It's two hours to Bimini via ferries and I used to go there a lot on weekends with my gf.

Does that count?

Something funny as somebody who travels is that I feel like I'm in the borderlands in parts of Utah and then in parts of southern CA I feel like I'm in the middle of the country lol

Detroit reporting in... sadly.

But TECHNICALLY I am on the Southern border given that I travel south into Windsor.
