In march I was in Istanbul and in Antalya. Antalya was secular, even though our waitress complaiend that she is hungry and its not iftar yet. It's funny becuase she was wearing the hotel uniform.

In Istanbul it was horrible. The ezan penetrated through my ears.

In July I was in Adiyaman and the bus driver said he wishes everybody was a muslim.

Initially I decided to stay in Syria during ISIS but after they took control of where I live and blocked the roads to the Assad ruled regions I had no other choice.
