Turkey is the Mexico of Europe. They are brown, they deal in crime and fast food, they have irritating music and TV soap operas in which the actors look lighter than 99% of the population/like white people. In addition, as Mexicans always say that they are 'North America', so Turks say that they are 'Europe'. Both of them actually took over the language and religion of the occupiers. The original Turks came from today's Kazakhstan and looked 'like Chinese', they imposed the language and religion and then it drowned in the mass. In Mexico, the Spaniards did the same thing. There are several candidates in Europe that could be the equivalent of those Central American states (Serbia, Albania, Mt Nigger, Bosnia). However, almost every country in Europe has its own Mexico. For Croatia, it is Bosnia.

Let's say, Slovenia has wages twice as low as Austria, but you can't call it 'Austrian Mexico' because it looks like a clone of that country. Slovenia is Austria's 'Mini Me'. If I were to look for equivalents of Croatia in South America, then there are some points in common with several countries. Chile because of the gigantic coastline that blocks the neighbors. Brazil because of football as a religion, carnival, Catholicism, beaches... Argentina maybe because of its obsession that it is the first world. But it is a different kind of search than the search for 'Mexico'.
