just look at the other asian groups it's clear that koreans are an outlier

filipinos, japanese, and chinese are less educated but earn way more

Korean Americans go to college a lot, but not always in the fields that make the most money. A bunch end up in humanities or religious studies since church is such a huge part of the community. (And I hate it for some reason). Indians on the other hand are piling into STEM, medicine, and finance, which just pay way better.

And when it comes to networking, Chinese and Indian lads usually have these big professional cartels in tech or finance. Koreans built their circles more around church life, which doesn’t really help you climb the salary ladder the same way.

Also Koreans in other countries usually don't like their own group and neoptism. They are obbsessed with fake fairness or similar something. Koreans usually think Koreans are nosy in their own groups, so they don't want to use their groups as career ladders.

Why don't they go back to korea?

One thing nobody talks about is how in LA the Korean community was tight knit and strong, so LA staged a riot and burned down ktown. They targeted business centers, strip malls, and the ones that didn't burn they fucked over with aggressive policy afterwards

There was no other ethnic quarter quite as nice as koreatown. But they got nerfed, and some went back to Korea, a lot scattered outwards into the states. Quite amazing considering the first Koreans landed in riverside, then made the biggest Korean community in LA, and then nothing really came from it.

LA has a bad history of doing this. They did it again with the Palisades fires. Too many cushy people who were sitting on prime real estate.
