Because it's expensive and degrees are extremely undervalued and don't mean shit in today's job market. Overall not worth it, I'm going into the trades instead.

The trend in the job markets in the western world is that blue collar workers wages are rising, same with the need for them.
Why be a wagie that will get replaced by AI in few yeara at a corp if you can be a welder or a plumber and earn few times more with a more stable, safe job, hell, maybe even a chance for your own small company.

College is obsolete. All kind of information is available online nowadays so universities can't gatekeep it. On top of that AI is nuking most white collar jobs and so many people have degrees now its value had gone down. Higher education was supposed to be something reserved for the top percentiles not a pay to win game everyone is entitled to.

Never would've guessed that automation would render all the white collar jobs obsolete before the blue collar ones.

I think the last sentence is most important. College's purpose was to signal intelligence in high school + basic conscientiousness (ability to work through the curriculum)

and is also muh projection aka extrapolation. Actual data doesn't even show a decrease. This is some of the worst fucking "data soience" graph I've ever seen.

Tell me where that drop comes from other than muh models. Because actual up to date data has none of that. The Jewish trick is to present fiction as truth.
>it will drop because the models from The Experts said so
sure sure

we are in phase of white collar oversaturation, people go blue collar.
once we gonna have oversaturation of mediocre mechanics, welders and construction workers, demand for white collar workers will back again. But it will take decades.
