The State of Int
I have been using int for about a decade now. Much has changed. I am autistic, so it is something that is extremely visible to me. 10 years ago, people were less serious, more shitpost-y, more gay, less political, and friendlier. Now, people get serious or political at a hair trigger, and the insults that used to be mostly just rage bait or banter appear much more sincere nowadays. Before, it was easy to get along with people on this board. Much less sincere hostility. Now, half the posts I make I am (you)'d with what appears to me sincere scorn. (most often by Eastern Europeans for whatever reason). My posting style has not changed much at all in this time period, but the board culture is completely different from what I remember. This place almost feels like Reddit now, with how much people take themselves seriously. And for whatever reason, people talk about sincerely international topics much less than they used to. Commentary on language and culture was extremely common back then, now it appears that much more posts are off just off topic in your country posts. I don't know what caused these changes, but they make me sad. I don't think I would've start using /int/ if it was like this 10 years ago. Does anyone else see what I am saying? Am I imagining things? In your country or something, do you think that this board is better or worse than how it was when you started using it?

The boards are dead, the internet space you're used to is dead. And there is no turning backs or safe space from that.

I agree. The /int/ anons today are often mean-spirited. Discussions about culture and exchange of ideas have been overshadowed by ethnic and political issues. This shift likely reflects the global instability that has led to this part of the website being dominated by political content despite being against the rules.

The whole site is like this these days. Every single board has its own little zoo of schizos and memester shitflingers that are intentionally disruptive for the sake of disruption. It is basically impossible to have a genuine interaction here, but there's nowhere else to go. This is just how the younger generation behaves when given anonymity and a platform. The pervasive console war mentality applied to literally everything has been a disaster for the internet. Well I hope you can still have some fun here every now and again.

It all depends on global stability and people willing to engage meaningfully. Take this poster, for example:
>>214493132.
There's no reason for them to act and behave this way, yet they do. They aren't willing to engage meaningfully either, due to their own biases or reluctance to participate.

I understand. No good thing lasts forever I suppose. I just, I really wish I cherished it more while it was still around. This isn't the same world as it was 10 years ago. I just can't help but find it depressing. I miss that energy, that world, a lot.

But I'm not?
I'm talking generally, regardless where the political scale lean towards.
Again, you don't want to engage with anons in any meaningful way because of your own baise. See
