Recently I found out that you're supposed to honk when overtaking someone. Nobody does it though.
I can only think how bad that would go, because if people actually started doing it, the person being overtaken would just assume the other car is insulting them as slow or telling them to "move out of the way"

I use my right turn signal to aggressively overtake retards hogging the left lane on 2 lane interstate highways. This is probably unique to the US though with our interstate system and retarded people using cars to go everywhere.

it's less a 'culture' and more that road rules which includes proper use of car horns are followed / enforced, or they're not and it's a free-for-all. or more like a culture of being considerate of others and law-abiding, or not being.
