Some shitty shoe makers in mexico have put pressure in the government to put tariffs against china. Now we will have to pay more to buy shoes or we will need to buy them from shitty national brands. This is what protectionism is all about. Shitty, petty and inefficient manufacturers seething at the industrial might and efficiency of the chinese productive lines
