1. a) the only reason Yugoslavia existed was because of peculiar cold war situation. For the more retarded people of this board, I mean that if NATO or USSR, one or the other, had prevailed, Yugoslavia would not exist in the state it did during the equillibium.
Why did I write 1. a) ? Because it had to do with 1. Please refer to it.
1. b) Conflict of thought is why Yugoslavia collapsed. Serbs wanted to survive through this period through a centralized state to oppose the oncoming vassalization - there would be no EU or NATO negotiations. Croats and Slovenes wanted a federalization and vassalization to the west, the EU market.
Serbs/Croats were historically shaped by different circumstances which led to the difference in thought.
1. c) West Germany was getting reunified and stronger, they were pissed at Yugoslavia for recognising east Germany and being market competitors. They offered by far the strongest immediate economical, diplomatic and military support to the secessionist states.

2. Economic crisis of the 1980s caused by high oil prices hit everyone. The way of thought was (obviously it was wrong but not inherently malicious) to give money from the factories in + to factories in -.
2. a) It was not straightforward as this. During communist Yugoslavia, my province, Vojvodina, from Serbia, gave the most per capita to Yugoslavia. Slovenes and Croats had some privileged market circumstances inside of Yugoslavia. It's not just Serbs honestly. Croats can be also normal. I know that the reason we disagree is because of different perspectives.
