yeah thats the point. he reminds me of a kind of shy kid you too might have had at your middle school, the one who was really interested in vulgar conversations and eager to join in, but was too afraid of embarrassing himself, so he could never jump into a real debate with his own personal opinions or get into a fight with nasty language. the most he could do was offer a boring, objective sounding comment or occasionally show their aggression in a passive way. the flag gives off that same vibe.
