This is a lie anon. The only aid the US gave to Korea was back in the 50's to rebuild the depleted military so we can still have a Korean Army to help defend against any future attacks from the NORKS/Chinese during the armistice. Korean economy didn't take off until their "Miracle on the Han" period of the 80s. In fact many people criticized the 'Guns over Rice' spending of the US aid as people wanted money to go to feeding and rebuilding the destroyed country but pretty much all of it went to the military, even the food aid and any infrastructure projects were to help the military.

The 'modern aid' is actually the cost of us stationing troops in Korea which is why Trump wants Korea to pay an extra $10 Billion per year to offset our costs.

Idt it stems from jealousy or charitable giving, but from other issues. The two biggest ones I feel are that Korean Americans have disrupted housing prices through real estate speculation in Korea, and that newcomers trying to break into immigrant communities are often excluded and despised rather than welcomed by older generations of immigrants. (Those who are completely absorbed into American society and do not need the Korean community will naturally not do so.)
I've never seen Japanese or Chinese Americans, who have a much longer history of immigration, create these problems. It's much more about the perception of our relationships with Mexicans and Chicanos. We never look down on people without reason.

i'm an American and i've been living in Korea several years and i can safely say that's not the case. the average Korean's quality of life is significantly higher than the average American or even the average Korean American. in fact part of the reason why Koreans are so damn miserable is because quality of life here is so high, they feel that there is nothing to do to improve civilization and thus they can only slowly watch it decline year after year. in America it's not like that.
