Germany has many big population/economic centers with big incentives on maxxing out manufacturing for export and dominating global markets. France is basically just one city country (Paris) while the rest of the country is seriously lagging behind with main activity being subsidized farming. And overall France is largely closed loop service economy with massive welfare state (evne larger than Germany), while Germany is a major manufacturing economy focused on increasing exports. The only sector frenchies are seriously good at is military and fake fashion products like bags or cosmetics.
