Americans of /int/, what is Raising Cane's? It's making the news in my country for opening restaurants here but it just looks like a generic fast food place. What's so special?

They just sell chicken tenders. Owned by Dave Portnoy who knows how to manipulate media so it gets more attention than it deserves. The tenders aren't bad, but hold up like shit if you get it delivered or don't eat them there.

To be fair that's a bit different as we got the yankslop trimvirate of McDonald's, KFC, and Burger King ages ago, and up until a few years ago that's all we had. Now we're getting absolutely tonnes of new ones flooding in, they always start in London and spread from there. You have a large choice of fast food so I'm sure Miami has tonnes of other chains as well as Burger King.

Popeyes is utterly mediocre everywhere except in Louisiana. I went to Mardi Gras from California and had Popeyes down there and it was the most succulent, flavorful Popeyes I had ever had.

Popeyes service and quality is heavily dependent on location and employees, like most fast food places. The one by my parents that is staffed by latinxes gives you your food fast and it's hot and fresh, even if you order huge family size meals. The ones that have been by the apartments I've rented were staffed by nigs and it would take a half hour to get a single spicy chicken sandwich that was basically cold.

I haven't had a popeyes chicken sandwich in years but I do remember it actually being that crispy irl. One of the few times where the real thing lived up to the ad photo, which is probably why they were so popular. When they first came out they were so popular that people would get shot or stabbed over them because the popeyes location would run out of them due to high demand. Pic related is just one story.

it's okay, a little expensive. compared to popeyes the meat is higher quality and their sauce is great but the breading is less flavorful. the tenders are cooked to order (since it's all they serve) so they come out steaming hot but that means if you get it to-go then they'll steam in the box and end up kind of soggy. their coleslaw is shit but they allow substitutions so most people swap it for something else.
