The same thing happened to my parents. The house next door sold for over a million dollars and the buyers ended up being an Indian immigrant family of 7. The father apparently sold his chemical company to an even larger chemical company in India for 30 million. The Indians lived in that house for over a year before my parents caught a glimpse of them since they never went outside. Then one day they spontaneously invited my parents over for tea to get to know them.
My dad told me the house still had no decorations and barely any furniture, as if it had only been lived in for a week. They had a bunch of random shit haphazardly strewn around the living room with no coherent organization to it. There was massage table, an empty aquarium, two side by side TVs on the floor, and a corner with a pile of flattened Amazon boxes as tall as one of the TVs.

And they knew exactly what they were doing, because the second the 1965 immigration act passed, they immediately started agitating for higher third world quotas.

Well the Eastern Bloc managed to keep this nonsense out, but as soon as the Eastern Bloc collapsed it slowly began seeping into their societies too.
