I wouldnt expect you to convert to Judaism because that comes with a lot of baggage but you cant deny that there is a community felt by those who passionately go to church every Sunday (not those who just go cus they feel they must).
Im just saying keep your eyes and ears open to all sorts because of you decide to convert to islam it may not be for you and may be that something is better for you instead

Why dont you convert to orthodox Christianity, isnt it traditional and already has a strong presence in russia, if you're russian you will be much more connected to it since wider society and your relatives are probably Orthodox Christian.

"Community" is not enough. There's a vast mindset difference gap between secular urban and religious urban people. You have to undergo a severe mental transformation if you really want to catch up. Christianity offers no room for such a transformation, it's already semi-secular by nature.

I think I'll make the choice much later in life. I don't think my future job will be genuinely compatible with Islam, and it'll be only meaningful if I make a cardinal change, leaving the West for a Muslim country completely.

you really want to leave your home for faith? that commitment, regardless of if you actually do it genuinely commendable brother, but there are already numerous muslims in russia. at most consider moving to a nogai or chechen populated area. my brother in law is an english muslim who converted at like 23 years old and he was perfectly happy.

The jobs aspect I can understand however, as I also struggle with my hatred of the british gov for example and serving it's economy in anyway. I personally plan to move to somaliland at some point due to this, but maybe there are some options you havent thought of yet
