I have two friends, one is in china and the other in korea. They both tell that locals are darker than central asians. How is this possible with so much lower sun exposure?

yeah eastern asians are so sneaky in media they seem so light but in real life the ones i met are mostly same as my skin tone except some girls, also central asians are not all light skinned

east asians have varying skin colors, I see pipo more pale than nordes regularly here meanwhile also seeing SEA tier dark pipo occasionally

kazakhs/central asians are genetically mixed with scythians/western steppe people that are the original whites and hundreds years of russian/european movement and mixing in central asia. But east asians are homogenous, lives in less cold conditions and ricefarmers
