Why was (is) this game seemingly so popular amongst Anglos and Nordics? Was (is) it popular in your cunt?

yes, a lot of my best friends played and it was our main way of communication online. haven't played OSRS in over a year but i still somewhat follow what's going on. apparently it is at an all time high with online player count since 2013 or even 2004 for that matter, but this includes a shitload of bots. some worlds even up to 50%
it could run on a potato and you didn't have to download anything back in the day, so it was very easy to just make an account and 20 seconds later you were on tutorial island. it's just a comfy game and not the next WoW clone. there's a reason it has survived for nearly 25 years

It was immensely popular here as well. Was a good tool for improving english, learning the basics of bartering (varrok bank, before g.e) and a good lesson in scams that also has applications outside of the game as a prevention

Unfortunately the composer of the KINO soundtrack turned out to be a nonce, something I never wanted to know but it is what it is.

Yes, my whole class played it back in the 2000s. I quit around 2008 when they removed a bunch of things I liked. I know OSRS put them back in but I had already stopped caring by then.

I remember stealing some little Timmy's account that had membership.

they had to as botters were using stolen creditcard information and these companies were tired of refunds or dealing with this bullshit and were threatening to stop dealing with RS memberships and that would have been the end
jagex back then was quite cryptic and barely interacted with its playerbase, but nowadays they're quite open about most things and interact quite a lot with the community, asking for feedback etc, instead of forcing bullshit down your throat and you just have to take it. nowadays tell them their idea is shit and they'll rework or cancel it
