Lately I have been watching a lot of videos in youtube about cops arresting people and they take traffic infractions very seriously. There was this video of a guy in a sports motorcycle who ran like 3 red lights in a small town and the cops tracked him down, handcuffed him, took him to jail and charged him with like 3 items lmao

Small town cops in the South can be pretty bad, as the city gets most of their revenue from tickets and fines. So the cops are hyperaggressive against middle class people, but don't give a shit if a poor breaks the law.

Yeah sometimes it's because of poorly paid guards and understaffing or dangerous inmates being held with others, but people who defend it act like the government has no duty to prevent it or that it should deter crime. Funnily enough, Alabama has some of the worst violent crime statistics in the country.

It varies a lot. In my little town, there are only two police officers and they rarely give tickets. The state police patrol the roads outside town borders and they're strict but professional. If you don't drive like a maniac and don't piss them off they sometimes let you go with a warning.
