I know basically nothing about it and I'm not a good leader.

the strangest thing about CAR is that the leader actually seems competent

the guy has a PhD in math from a french university. he's clearly not a total retard. he believes in science and stuff

so... I don't know why he's accomplished so little. I feel like having good leadership really doesn't go far there at all. the people need to listen in order for a leader to have any power.

weird take, if professors were competent leaders then they would rule pretty much every country in the world while our experience tells us it doesn't really guarantee good results
western nations try academia guys in high posts from time to time and they usually fail at delivering necessary reforms, they often also overthink simple things and turn out to be indecisive when urgent action is needed.

unironically yes, the latter guy would probably fare better in such a country where most people are illiterate and believe in some divine force ruling their life simply because they would listen to him as his system of values would align with theirs

I think in a country like CAR 80%+ people still live and engage in whatever activities only within their village limits and probably don't even know who the president is, as it has zero impact on their daily life.
