I think you can ask about that pretty much everyone, I'm sure a skilled ethnic Norwegian electrician can make more than an average corpo worker in Oslo, yet I don't think the latter really envies the former. Not everything is about money, it's also about your lifestyle, what you like doing at life, where you live and so on.
I think it might have been a more divisive question 20 years ago, when indeed salaries in Poland were too low to survive, so it made sense for everyone to change their profession to some trade and start working in the west but nowadays salaries here are high enough so they allow you decent life and at this point life becomes more about choice than about struggle for survival, then you stop counting everything with euros and start caring about your pleasure, entertainment and free time more.
I make 1700 eur net in an easy office job here, obviously if I worked as a plumber in Norway I could make twice as much but well, then I would have to be a plumber in Norway and it's simply not worth the hassle since my current income allows me to live decently and afford everything I want and need.
