It's good to know that rational attitude prevailed and the reasonable part of the society defended Vucic. Even if he's not perfect, still he's the best Serbia can have at this point. If the revolution succeeded, they would have a civil war in a week between all the protesters about who should rule the country now, because the protests were attended by people from all of the political spectrum, far-left to far-right. The protesters don't have any positive program, only negative one ("let's topple Vucic and then we will see"), you can't build anything serious on this.

I'm not privy into Serbian politics but it seems like the anti west/nato/EU stances are a lot of hot air and symbolic power gestures rather than any sort of real politics with consequences. Though presumably lots Serbs like the displays so i guess you're somewhat right

Yeah it's just vapid bullshit. They mocked us for importing Nepalis ("mandatory EU policy" o algo), and now that Vučić is importing Nepalis in Serbia they cope by saying it's because of magical "EU influence".

Actually Serbia is a strong contender for membership status and it's governments has continued to follow the chapters consistantly. This is what i mean by serbian populism not matching their real life actions. I'm not sure Serbs even want to be in the EU. It all seems very messy and i'm too far removed to get into this bullshit.
