As someone who's dabbled in market research, it's purely because of gender and tribe dynamics. Black people really do eat the representation shit up.
White male customers get angry when BMWF is represented, but they usually don't swear off products because of it.
Black male customers, however, get murderously FURIOUS if WMBF gets represented. If an interracial pairing is going to be represented, it's going to have to be a black MAN BLACKing a white girl, not a white BOY colonizing a sister (paraphrase).
White women don't usually care much since they either don't entertain the idea of fucking blacks so it doesn't register to them or they DO fuck blacks and they're happy to see some representation.
In short, BMWF is free money, WMBF is losing money.
Other races have their own quirks, Latinos in particular don't care much for representation as much as they care about not seeing black people, so it's a balancing act.
