don't care, take slavery for example
>there's evidence of slavery existing before the first human settlements appeared
>ancient romans and greeks left scripts pointing out that slave work as little as possible, but when they become freemen and work their own land they become super productive
>various countries and religions shun slavery throughout history, but it continues being the norm world wide
>it wasn't until the enlightenment that most western countries start passing laws against it, after thousands of years of being common practice
the reason was mechanization and industrialization; all of a sudden you don't need as much human labor anymore
we kept the institution of slavery around until fairly recently, even when we knew how inefficient it was, even when we had ethical and moral concerns
we only abandoned it after machines started to out produce slaves by a wide margin
we'll keep liberalism going, even for centuries if needed, until an objectively superior mode of production and governing shows up
