They seem to have genuine pride about their country. How even? They are probably the worst country in the world objectively speaking.

Caste gives them unearned dignity.

we're still a developing country with way more downs than ups. the mainstream audience here has low iq with a fake sense of pride that doesn't match reality. corruption, overpopulation, pollution, poverty, all of it is still here and pretty bad. historically we got invaded, ruled over, torn apart and looted, and we never really recovered from that. that's why we're poor and it feels like we've been like this forever

but at the same time there's a reason people here still have pride. india's young, it’s growing fast, and despite the mess, things are slowly improving. tech, economy, startups, space program, we're not world class yet but it shows the potential. so yeah, rn it's a shithole in many ways, but if it keeps pushing it won't always stay that way

i'm an indian muslim and i've never seen anyone in my country eating or bathing in poo/cow dung. the only times i've come across that was some lower caste hindus from really backward villages online, and even that was years ago. it was def just for clout or shock value. i've never seen anything like it irl. idk where you find those images but it's not the reality for most of the country. even americans have weird shit like playing with poop or eating bugs on camera, but that doesn't mean the whole country does it. every place has its fuckups, we just has more of them because of the massive overpopulated sections still stuck in backward practices. but that's not something that's gonna stay forever

A lot of their blind pride comes from their caste system and hitler's aryan word mix up. They created a caste system where indians, whites, and east asians are the superior races of the earth. Indians use hitler's obsession with "aryans" (nordic whites) to prove they're the ultimate superior race. This essentially allows indians to ego boost themselves by claiming all white achievements. Google had to put a second definition to clarify what hitler meant, but poos refuse to acknowledge this.

Because things were worse in the past... Post independence stories of India from my grandfather were genuinely horrifying but now I am sitting in an Air conditioned room using internet... That's huge progress and more and more people are transitioning to middle class.. its still not perfect but its stupid to say things did not improve.
