Do you have "villages" in your country that are a series of disconnected houses and farms rather than one centralized settlement? Poland Yes in some areas, for example pic rel are all apple orchards near Grójec
Anonymous United States No.214674929 [Report] >>214676308 >>214676468 >>214679001
There's no villages here aside from native and colonial settlements.
You have towns (5,000-50,000) and then townships (500-5,000)

dude, you seem to be completely oblivious about Poland if you bring examples from all the places except the one where it happens to biggest degree

I think so.
When you travel by airplane it's remarkable how much of the country is just farms, endless farms.

Typical smaller farm. Can't get into the economics of scale needed today so the barn is usually used for horses or storage and the land is leased to a larger neighbor

Something somewhat peculiar we have in the Amazon region is very small, usually very poor "riverside" communities that are sometimes quite isolated from each other.

it's not about my home village, it's about that you start a thread about a certain phenomenon and ignore the region where it happens the most which clearly means you don't even know your own country

there are several valid regions to choose to highlight the fenomenon. in the orchards it's apparent because you often can't even see any other houses in the distance because they're all away from the road and hidden by their own orchards

stop being a sperg

>there are several valid regions to choose to highlight the fenomenon
no, north-east Poland is the showcase of it because it's known for having the "Baltic" arrangement (Lithuanians live there predominantly) and if this phenomenon is discussed by professionals then this region is always first to present
if you ignored it before I pointed it out then it's clear you didn't know about it and you simply know nothing about Poland

>>214675852
>this schizo land allocation pattern with thin narrow strips only exists in Poland
that's because we were the only country not to have land consolidation either in 19th century or in communism

in other eastern European countries you can still spot these looong villages, but the farmland is already consolidated, thanks to commies

Polish commies didn't want to tackle this issue because they were afraid of a popular uprising so we stay with this medieval system that severely hinders modernization of our agriculture

thankfully the problem is kinda solving itself by depopulation of villages and richer farmers buying up the land of poorer farmers and consolidating it on their own
