im a canadian and fell inlove with a chilean many years ago, fuck I loved chile so much. It felt more like home than canada.
In canada im a french canadian anglo hybrid and always felt like both sides seethed against me. In chile everyone was so warm and kind. Its the only place I hitchhiked (in a small tourism town in the north that usually only chileans go to). then randomly my ex got a psychotic break after smoking some weed and drinking one night and had a complete break from reality and snapped and almost killed me and then her. I was defacto banned because they thought I drugged her. Meanwhile she was like "oh I shouldn't have smoked weed! this always happens!" like WHAT THE FUCK. now I have a soulless corporate job and i can't even afford an apartment and everyone in Canada is like a vacant loner ghost in comparison to a latino. I want to go back but I'm still traumatized. The women ARE legit so kind and smarter and more well learned+curious than white girls who are weirdly extremely traditional and conservative anti intellectual types while LARPing as strong independent freeminded types.
the only thing I hate is the bachata though. How you can casually let your gf grind her shit up on another guy is beyond me, and 90% of latinos are OK with it. I've seen brothers and sisters dance in a way that would make me pissed if my gf did it.
but yes it is paradise
