An eromanga author named Yamamoto Naoki was producing a BLUE series of doujinshi in 1990, there's a story called 197x that was the oldest formal instance of NTR. Still exists to a lesser degree. Psycho×Past feels kind of similar to 80s stuff, it's just the stuff in the 80s had no moral charge to it. Violence was extremely wanton and often lacked compassion entirely, there was often very little or no distinction between 'good' and 'bad' people. Now they beat you over the head with morality. Idk if it's ever going back to the way it used to be regarding gore or rape, it's not really the same thing as banning a franchise.
