Unironically it's because most Latrinos in Los Angeles are first gen uneducated rentoid laborers. Most Asians are educated or skilled when they migrate here. Only a minority of Latinos are wealthy/educated and 2/3rds of those are already US born 2nd, 3rd or 4th gen. Only about 25% of Latino migrants are skilled/educated. The 75% majority are mostly unskilled laborers. Their only hope is for their kids to do well, but they are uneducated so they struggle to build a foundation to allow their kids to thrive the way Asians do.
Sad by true. My family are NeoMexicanos/Californio-Basques on my dads side and my moms side were pro Porfirians who came to the US with money during the Mexican revolution. Dads side were exposed to wealth and access to skills so made money and didn't fall into the poverty degen cycle and my moms side were aready monied from the mining industry when they got here so got into real estate and aerospace right when it boomed.
I have the exact same genetics as the absolute scum ghetto retarded gangbanger retarded cholos but had a few hundred years of familial knowledge to capitalize on to not be like that.
Asians often do better even if they come from poverty migrant backgrounds too. This is largely due to have literally millennia old coherent cultures with reverence towards education, and building a legacy.
Some Hispanic migrants do make the jump in the first generation but most Hispanic cultures don't have the historical cultural norms and histories that stress wealth building and education. Most that make this jump are indigenous that force themselves to do better out of spite. The recent mass deportations are meant to be a mass pruning of those multitudes of low skilled low outlook migrants who aren't perceived to make the cut but we don't know if it will pan out.
