You're not missing much, there's basically nothing to do in either state. SA has quite literally nothing and one of the smallest CBDs in the country.

You should definitely go to Olympic National Park. The interior of the park has temperate rainforests completely covered in moss and vines, and pretty mountains.
The coast is rocky and has all sorts of critters living in the tide pools (starfish, sea cucumbers, sea anemones, etc) in addition to whales and sea otters and seals and sea lions on the shore and water. There are also bunnies and river otters and deer that wander onto the beach

It's the best National Park in the country in my opinion, I went backpacking for 12 days along the coast as part of some extreme summer camp when I was 17, it was incredible. Here's a picture we took

I arguably visited Ukraine multiple times as a toddler and also in 2010 and 2011. Arguably because I only visited Crimea, Donetsk area, Mariupol and other territories which are a bit disputed as of now
Turkey 2008
Cuba 2012, was super comfy, the Atlantic was the warmest body of water I've ever swam in (btw I went swimming to the beach today)
Italy 2012, food was great, visited with my dad in October, one day we decided to swim in the sea and all the Italians wearing fucking coats and jackets gave us judging looks even though it was pretty warm outside
Cyprus 2014. I had a crush on a girl in school and I remember standing in the sea, imagining a scenario where all humans in the world besides me and her disappear and we have to get together to survive and eventually have sex. I was fighting the urge to start fapping in the sea.
Bulgaria 2014. "Accompanied" my mom to a sceintific conference there. The sea was cold but the food was great, also saw naked german grannies
Japan 2017, 2018 and now. dang ol dang ol
Montenegro, Bosnia and Albania in 2019. Love the balkans, great place to visit, Bosnia was the comfiest
India in 2024, work trip
