I'm just saying that Argentina has basically nothing important economically or geopolitically, so it doesn't need to protect itself. I doubt Uruguay or Brazil would want to inherit a nation in serious socio-economic trouble. Conquering Argentina would probably ruin the conqueror's economic and political stability. Argentina is a hopeless black hole for any ruler, and Argentinians know this best.

There is no point in having an army. Just save your money like Costa Rica and give the savings to the people.
