what's the down low with these guys, are they on putin's payroll or what?

they make up good points to catch your attention but they always use them to push for their retarded ideology subtly (or less than subtly if you're not a retard).

not being overtly "pro-russia" is one thing. the socialists bringing in unfiltered migrants in the eu or the greens destroying nuclear power in germany are overtly "pro-russia" either, but it plays right into their hands.

he's anti russian because it doesn't cost him anything to say that he is, but both him and yanis are somehow anti-russian/putin or whatever, and against the militarization of europe, which is the key fact.

more defense spending would be good imo, it would only be bad for russia and for us defense contractors who get big fat contracts using the russian boogeyman.

one can be against militarism on principle, but I don't think it's a coincidence here

i thought Zizek has become more pro-military but only if it isn’t Germany militarizing. he said this recently even iirc

Isn’t that basically the bogstandard liberal position? russia bad because imperialism, but military spending also bad because “we’ll be just like them?”

like I said, one can be retarded on principle alone, without having any particular interest, especially a liberal "college professor" who did produce anything of real value in his entire life.

but at the same time I know for a fact that the ultra socialist parties he supports in europe are financed by russia, much like the far right. they can't seem to agree on anything, except that militarism and a strong stance against russia is bad, kind of convenient don't you think? much like the dems and republicans in the us who are a unified block on the israel issue.

I can't think of one actual policy proposition that either of them actually outlined that goes against the current status quo. jokingly saying that everyone should get mandatory anal rape in a gulag once a month is not a serious proposition and is something zizek would say ironically.

it would go a long way to boost the manufacturing sector, bring that spending back home, since right now it is being done in america, where eu cunts are buying overpriced weapons, thus spending money outside their economies, and what we get in return is strategic dependance.

strengthening the european militaries would stabilize the mediteranean migration routes for example, a unified expeditionary force could technically be deployed in africa to secure resources, it would be useful in negotiating with the gulf states and russia who currently have us by the balls with energy blackmail.

I could go on, I have an entire thesis on this issue. but in short the current status quo is disadvantageous for europe, and it is only benefiting everyone else (the us, russia, the arabs)

When you buy weapons (even the ones you have created) they serve no further purpose in creating value. State should rather buy billions of machines and randomly give them to companies and it would achieve better effect

I would agree with you in an ideal world, but in this current one it's not the case. we need to buy them anyway considering the geopolitical situation that we're in, and if so, it's better to build them domestically. building them here will employ a buttload of workers and engineers who are currently out of a job due to an overproduction of graduates. this spending will bleed into the consumption economy. there will be overlap with the civil aviation and automotive industry. we currently have an unemployment problem, incorporating those young men who don't work and making them do public works that serve defense functions such as building dams or roads is a viable strategy too. having those weapons gives one "better" cards in negotiating with other states and they can even be used in securing resources abroad. and barring that, hopefully they are never used for taking a human life, they can eventually be sold at a discount to some other country who needs them.

I feel like you didn't read the post you replied to or just have a bias against arms.

the thing is that countries like romania and poland already bleed money buying overpriced shit from the us and what we get in return is being turned into bargaining chips.

the ukraine war could have been easily solved by the world's most powerful navy by blockadin the 3 straights through which russia is exporting its cargo, but there is no willingness to do so, it's merely a money laundering operation in which us defense contractors win big. and europe has no balls anymore so they just go with the flow on this issue.
