I can't take catholicism seriously because I had some questions about the Bible, specifically Markan vs Matthean priority, and I got told to ignore the bible completely and read church fathers instead.

I must have some german in me because I started to sympathise with Luther at that point, I quickly stopped though because I remembered what he said about the jews.

The whole religion thing just doesnt make sense, or at least for me it didnt by the time i was 26. Shit is absurd. Its common to question the branch and then the whole religion and either go irreligious or convert to somethinh else

As I understand it, and as evidence looks to me, Q is one of the 2 sources for Matthew and Luke, the other source being Mark, which didn't use Q.

My gripe with the catholic church is that they INSIST Matthew was written first and Mark later, which makes no sense given the text. (I can explain why if you'd like, it takes a long time but this is basically indisputable once you see it)

So this actually isn't a problem in other churches, presumably. (it is in eastern orthodoxy tho)

Idk it's hard for me to see how we would even go onto evaluate IF we are even capable of knowing if there is a larger force out there.

Today I was at work (yes i work weekends) and i saw a green grasshopper-looking bug thrown by the wind my way. It's a hazardous space so I moved a traffic cone his way, so he climbs onto it, so i could then move it to safety. I executed the plan, though I swang the traffic cone on the way to the grass a bit, so the bug was probably perturbed somewhat.

I doubt the bug, at any point in that interaction the bug even knew I was there. If he did, he certainly didn't see any intentions behind my actions. I can't say the same thing is or isn't happening in our lives.

Having said that, christianity specifically is hardly convincing, i've been trying to pick up the peaces and make any kind of sense of it but it just seems completely rotten to the core, I mean the book of Daniel is a known forgery, and yet jesus quotes it, what, god was duped by a lowly human?
