Anyone who claims nuking Japan was necessary is intentionally doing so to be a contrarian or to come off as an edgelord. No one with a basic level of historical knowledge truthfully believes it was necessary. In Nagasaki, yes, but I think that had more to do with Nagasaki being a much smaller city than Tokyo. Hiroshima had more causalities than the Tokyo bombing and obviously combined the atomic bombs had far more casualties.
