Compared to every other city I have lived in the midwest & elsewhere (wont say which as i don't want to doxx myself) i would say Reno seems like a gross place. Maybe if you've never lived outside the s.w you won't understand what I mean.
Homeless are absolutely everywhere, drug addicts are everywhere, there's no community and there's mexicans absolutely everywhere. The heat is terrible.

The deepsouth is a worse shithole I would agree with you there. The south is like borderline a third world country. Midwest has some bad places, but at least the climate isn't too terrible and the cost of living is ok. And it has a couple cities that are nice and pretty quiet
