Turns out it's very well suited for travel posting because you can flex with the ultrarare (or at least, nice) flags you're travelling to, rather than using it as a tripcode for tripfagging in other (low iq) threads

It was my second time in Ulashanivka hromada already, having already picked up highly coveted ultra rares such as Bachmanivka, where there isn't even mobile internet reception. Tsvitokha, lying on the main road between Shepetivka and Slavuta, is not nearly as rare, but it will make a fine addition to everyone's Ulashanivka hromada collection nonetheless.

The curfew at night also means that you have to be really careful when deciding to sleep outside. It's easier to find a suitable spot in Western Ukraine; much trickier in the open steppes of the country's South and East. The curfew is enforced, and military do scout areas for suspicious activity with thermal drones at night.

Since the modernizers of the country and the founders of the republic (See: Jeunes-Turcs) were always France-educated and fluent French speakers, historically speaking, France was considered the center of high culture in Turkey (and elsewhere until English became the dominant intellectual language).

No Plus, just the regular Schwalbe Marathons. The Plus are overkill imo. At some point the extra puncture protection becomes pointless. Both the normal Marathons and the Plus will handle virtually everything you throw at them.

I'll do the return trip later since I passed through San Mateo, SF, and Marin counties but i'm too tired to go through all those municipalities right now.

Spain would have the potential to be my favorite country to cycle in in Western Europe if it wasn't for the gay ass helmet laws. Police actually stopped me near Vitoria-Gasteiz and reminded me that I HAVE to wear the HECKIN helmet and that there's a €200 Euro fine if you don't. I usually still don't wear it though. During climbs in the direct sun wearing it is absolutely ridiculous. It's a fucking five centimeters thick plastic egg, not breathable at all.

In other news, a few people have wished me a "Buen Camino", the common greeting for pilgrims to Santiago (which I'm not). Since I'm going West, really almost every road follows some alternative route of the Camino de Santiago. Most pilgrims, about 70%, do the most boring and easiest route across the Spanish meseta, the Camino Frances. I'm on the third-most popular route now, the Camino del Norte, following the coast. Seen a bunch of those pilgrims walking right on the main road here. Looked pretty miserable to me to be honest. I've also been on some highly obscure alternative Camino routes, including the Basque Interior Camino and the Camino Olvidado (forgotten Camino). It's a little ridiculous, but I guess it helps pouring money into rural communities that might not survive otherwise.
