It's true though. Reading works just as well, if not better, but it requires repetition. I think it's much less of a hassle and much more effective to review short texts every few days than it is to grind through isolated words in Anki every day.
I am using Lute for Swedish and every day I read something new and review something old. Simple as!

My dog is big.

His favorite place is the park.
>medium
At the park, he runs around sniffing the grass.
I wonder what he's looking for?
When he sees another dog, he starts to wag his tail happily.
>hard
Seeing that my dog was tired, I began to take him home.
When we got home, he ran in the house and waited impatiently for me to make him his dinner.
"I'm not your slave, mister" I told him, and poured him a bowl of dog food, which he started eating before I was even finished.

>Ele gosta de ir para passeios
this is still wrong. using para here proves you are a learner and the reason i decided to correct a person with a portuguese flag writing portuguese. motion verbs are 90% used with "a" because para indicates going and not coming back.

I dont know how they make the difference between a parque and a jardim here, it doesn't seem to follow the same logic as in french, but dog parks are called parques caninos, and places with grass, trees, say a children's playground and a water fountain are called jardims

>它喜欢跑步
Male animals can also be called 他
跑步 means run, 散步 means walk but when you're talking about an animal it's better to say 溜达/遛(狗 )
他喜欢溜达 / 他喜欢出去遛
>在公园里它闻着草而跑跑
First, in Chinese the subject always goes before time and location clauses.
you don't need both 着 and 而, 着 marks the verb as subordinate/simultaneous with another verb, but by adding 而 you make it another clause so the 闻着 has no main verb and sounds wrong.
他在公园(里)闻着绿草乱跑
>不知道它在找什么东西
You can't drop the subject if it's not been mentioned so this needs 我
"Wonder" you can also translate as 想不到
>看到其他一只狗时它的尾巴就摇摇起来
其他 doesn't go with specific objects, it's more general. 其他狗 other dogs 其他人 other people but 另一只狗 another (specific) dog
时 can be dropped here, it's more natural to use an 一...就... structure
You forgot to translate "happily", also the specific word for wag a tail is 掉尾巴 or 摆尾
他一看到(看见)另一只狗,尾巴就开始开心地摆起来
There's too many mistakes in the hard part for me to correct without changing the entire structure of your sentences
I spend so long writing a correction and you let the thread die huh is that how this works?

Aside from english, which is already a very weird germanic language, I have zero experience with germanic languages, so german is very intimidating to me.

well, actual listening requires a huge vocabulary which requires a lot of ankigooning as well, so everything is about anki in language learning
btw, these verb endings are pronounced differently that they are written
and some tenses arent used in everyday speech (preterit)

Not really. You won't understand everything but you'll pick up the words you know and a few you don't, which makes learning their definition easier later

Quando chegámos a casa, ele correu para dentro (inside/in the inside direction, rather than running within the inside of the house) e esperou com paciência por eu lhe fazer o jantar
Disse-lhe, "Não sou o seu escravo, Sr.," e lhe preparei uma tigela de comida de cão, de que ele começou a comer antes que eu acabasse de falar.
Hm, not bad this one.
"alegremente" was new to me, I had to look that up, because I was tempted to use "felizmente" but that's really more like "thankfully"

if you're just passively listening to music it's not very effective, but if you're actively learning and memorizing the lyrics its a pretty good way of acquiring vocab. vocab learned from songs tend to stick, especially if its emotionally charged music that you enjoy.

What's the good approach? I've only began and it seems like it should have a textbook of its own ffs. I learned basic grammar and some words so i can understand people's bios on interpals and wherever people 'exchange' languages online. But subjunctive is intimidating af.
Btw, this vid is massively helpful

even better: the sound occurs unambiguously in the exact same instances where russian does something else peculiar: it's whenever г meets к, like in the words мягкий and лёгкий. here, г becomes [ç~xʲ], and the vowels become all funky and sound like ä and ö respectively.

>I learned basic grammar and some words
I think that's too advanced for a beginner. I recommend learning more vocabulary and the verbs in infinitive(green) first . Then the most basic form of present, past and future (red circles). Then the blue circles, and the rest after. Don't even learn the ones crossed, almost no one uses them.
If you still want to brute force subjunctive maybe try translating these examples until you get them right
https://www.ejemplos.co/ejemplos-del-modo-subjuntivo/
I used deepL to translate them into English and it was pretty accurate imo
I'm not a Spanish teacher so take this with a grain of salt.

That is not brutal and also exists in a shitload of languages
Germans should just get rid of the Ü and consistently use Y for the same phoneme, which they already do in words derived from Greek, like Pyramide. Then they can use the ü key on the keyboard for something actually useful.
>but what about words like Yacht and Yoga where ze Y makes ze "J" sound in German?
Easy, just write those as Jacht and Joga.
>but what about ze tradition?
That argument was thrown out of the window when Germans permitted their government to go through with its language reforms 20+ years ago.
